Get Answers to Your Questions
Here are the most common questions we receive:
Q. What age groups do you teach?
A. Teaching adults is all we do. Adults are often in their thirties or older when they start here and have little-to-no experience before joining. You must be 18 years old or older to participate.
Q. Am I too old to start?
A. If this is something you really want to learn, there is nothing stopping you but you. Our first black belt was 50 years old when he began. He achieved it when he was 55. If he can do it, so can you!
Q. Do I need to have coordination, balance, and flexibility to join?
A. No, you don’t. These will develop in time and are not needed to get started. We will never ask you to kick over your head, do the splits or do any back flips. We promise!
Q. Is it only for men? Or are there women in the class?
A. Half our classes are men and the other half are women. There are other women in class so you won’t be the only one. We also have female assistant instructors who will personally help you. Click to read testimonials from some of our female students…
Q. Are beginners welcome?
A. Yes! In fact, 75% of our members never had any experience before starting with us. In fact, you will begin by learning all the fundamentals at your own pace in a group class with other people who are just like you.
Q. Are people with previous experience welcome?
A. Yes! 25% of the people who train with us have previous experience. We welcome you no matter what martial art style or system you are coming from. We’ve helped adults just like you transition into our studio from Tae Kwon Do, Krav Maga, Ju Jitsu, Judo, Shaolin Kempo, and more.
Q. If I have previous experience do I have to start over?
A. When it comes to belt rank, we believe in putting in the time and work it takes in order to achieve it. We will not rank people in our system based on past accomplishments in other arts. Unless you’re willing to empty your cup and start from the beginning, test for each rank, then wear the rank you have earned here, we’re not going to be a good fit.
Q. How long are the classes?
A. Classes are a full 60-minutes long.
Q. What are the benefits of taking your martial arts classes?
A. Our program offers a wide range of benefits:
- Learn self-defense
- Get into better shape
- Grow your self confidence
- Sharpen your mind
- Reduce your stress
- Refine your self-discipline
- Increase your flexibility
- Improve your balance
- Improve your coordination
- And more!
Q. What if I start and I don’t like it?
A. We offer a 30-day money back guarantee so you’re never out anything if you decide it’s not right for you. This way you can personally experience all the benefits our program provides. And, if you decide for any reason we’re not a good fit, we part friends and you can get all your money back. No strings attached!
What people are saying about us…
“I am excited to learn all I can about KENPO and drive up from Provo each lesson to learn! I felt the way Arrowhead Martial Arts is set up answered most of my questions upfront before I even contacted them. The website and trial lessons really overcame any reluctance I had.” – Russ McKay
“I was attracted to Arrowhead for numerous reasons: the low student-to-teacher ratio is practically like having private lessons; the price and terms are extremely reasonable; and the instructors are very personable, patient, easy to follow, and eager to share their knowledge.” – Jessica Taylor
“What I like best about training here is the practical self-defense techniques that offer real life application and progressive instruction that allows for adaptation. This is a combination that keeps learning interesting and keeps the skills useful.” – Nate Marcotte
