From Downtown:
- Head south on I-15
- Take 4500 South Exit
- Turn Left (East)
- Turn Right onto Highland Drive (at Albertsons)
- Turn Right into the Rutted Hair Salon driveway, just before Goodyear Tires.

Our building, 4700 Highland, is immediately behind Rutted Hair Salon, next to Utah Self Storage.

From South Valley:
- Head North on I-15
- Take I-215/Belt Route Exit
- Take 2000 East Exit
- Turn Left (North)
- Veer Right onto Highland Drive (at Wendy’s)
- Go past Cottonwood Mall
- Turn Left into the driveway, just after Goodyear Tires

Our building, 4700 Highland, is immediately behind Rutted Hair Salon, next to Utah Self Storage.

And, as promised, we will be doing another free, no obligation trial program where beginners can get two hours of instruction with a black belt instructor in the next couple of weeks. I will email you again when the times and days are finalized. Be sure to sign up to receive email updates about our next free trial. This is the only way you will receive updates.

After nearly eight years teaching in a fitness facility, I am happy to announce we are moving into our very own stand alone martial arts school to accommodate the growing demand for our adults only martial arts classes!

Beginning November 4th, 2008, we will be teaching at our new location:

Our new martial arts school (photos) is right between the Burt Brothers Goodyear Tires and Rutted Hair Salon on Highland Blvd. Simply turn into the parking lot for Rutted Hair Salon and go down the hill and we’re on the right.

The new martial arts school is MUCH larger than our last facility and is being completely remodeled. We will have all new flooring, mirrors, training equipment, bags, and more to help everyone get the most out of their martial arts training.

My mission has always been to make sure my students get the time and attention they need to really learn the art of KENPO. It is a promise I made to my existing students long ago and one I will keep to my future students.

I really want to keep that personal connection; where myself and my instructors know everyone’s name and face and know precisely where everyone stands in terms of their personal development. I never want my students to get lost in the shuffle; which is why we will still limit our class sizes even though we have a lot more space.

Between our new location, revised schedule, more training space, and over 10 instructors and assistant instructors ready to teach, we will be opening up enrollment into our martial arts school in the next few weeks on a limited basis.

For all those on our waiting list, we will be sending out in the near future a notice about our next trial program. Be sure to sign up for our free trial program if you haven’t already to make sure you know when we have openings.

So who else is as excited as I am to open our very own stand alone martial arts school?!

I will give a free Arrowhead Martial Arts Studios t-shirt to the first person who can tell me what page has been updated on the site that includes new functionality. Hint: It’s not in the blog.

We had a good sized group from our martial arts school attend the Paul Mills September International Kenpo camp in Evanston Wyoming this past weekend. There was testing and seminars on Friday and Saturday and there were Kenpoists from many countries that attended, not to mention all those from the States that were there.

We had several students from Arrowhead Martial Arts Studios (AMAS) who tested and I wanted to congratulate the following people on their advancement to their next belt level. It was a lot of pressure for most because this was in front of Mr. Mills and an international testing board of black belts. There was over 20 black belts on the board.

Everyone did a great job. It’s a good experience (once it’s over!) to get out there with people from all over the world and test in front of such a prestigious testing board and get over your nerves. In the street, you have to work under pressure so this is a good step towards overcoming your nervousness.
